Photographer Irving Penn captures Nicole Kidman's back profile dressed in a Christian Lacroix oyster satin backless dress for this cover of the May 2004 issue of Vogue. This was the first cover shoot for Vogue by Penn since 1989. The issue contains more photographs of Kidman dressed as a Grecian goddess, an Italian diva and as legendary actress Sarah Bernhardt.

I like this Cover because it elegant and simple but classy at the same time and thats what i like to see in magazine covers. When the background are simple i like look at the jewelry and outfits that stand out a lot and plus. I like that fancy images bring out the outfits and that what i pay attention to plus when its simple you mostly often see the whole outfit.
I wouldn't say that the model communicates with the people its just a pose of the back of the drew because the has her head turned so you really can't see her expression.
