RAW vs JPeg

What are three advantages of a RAW file:
-have the chance to change the white balance, exposure, contrast, saturation, and even calibration of the red, green, and blue guns or correct for lens aberration
-If the white balance is off it is much easier to fix
-higher in dynamic range

What is one disadvantage of a RAW file:
-Raw file is less sharp.

What are three advantages of a JPEG file:
-higher contrast
-shoot more shots using JPEG than Raw
-immediately suitable for printing, sharing, or posting on the Web

What is one disadvantage of a JPEG file:
lower in dynamic range

PART2
1. Write your own one sentence definition of what a JPEG file is.
A JPEG file that compresses and edits the image when saving
2. Write your own one sentence definition of what a RAW file is.
A RAW file records the data captures by the sensor

PART3

Under the first heading "Capturing the Images," how much of the data does a RAW file retain after it is captured by the camera?

Retains all the data

2. Under the second heading "Processing the Files," what are some of the things that a RAW file enables a photographer to edit after the image is taken?

white balance, exposure, contrast, saturation, and even calibration of the red, green, and blue guns or correct for lens aberration
3. Under the third heading "Practicalities," what are some of the factors that photographers must consider when deciding to shoot in RAW?

being able to transfer them

4. Under the fourth heading "Which one is for you?" why would an aspiring professional photographer need to know how to work with RAW files?

So he or she cam edit when processing the images

PART4

1. Make a list of three occasions it would be better to shoot in RAW.
-weddings
-portraits
-nature

2. Make a list of three occasions it would be better to shoot in JPEG.

-sports
- the jungle

Sunny 16 Rule and Basic Exposure Constant

The proper exposure is determined by the ISO of the film /sensor.
BRIGHT SUNNY DAY
-100 ISO
- Shutter speed 1/100 or 1.125
-Aperture f16

Equivalent Exposures
-Frames that have the same amount of light with different aperture and shutter speed settings

ISO

ISO 6400

ISO200

1. What are the advantages of shooting at a higher ISO at a sporting event like basketball or a night football game?- Receiving more light  on the subject and come out a little better when it is dark
2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO?- Use the lowest almost ISO all most all the time when ever there is a lot of light
3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO?- when there is not enough light for the camera t capture the image
4. At the camera near you, please tell me what ISO's are available on your camera?

2.
Aperture Priority- you set the aperture and the camera sets the shutter speed
Shutter Priority-you chose the shutter speed and the camera chooses the aperture right for the camera

Aperture

F2.8

F16

1. What part of the body should we closely relate aperture? The Eyes
2. The smaller the Aperture the brighter the image is so light can come in, the higher the Aperture The darker it gets so a lot of light don't come in.
3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field?
Aperture impacts depth of field by sharpening the image
4. Using a class camera, list ALL of the F stops available on the lens currently attached.
